Reality of Productivity
When I became of age and started to chase my career, I would stumble on tweets and motivational videos preaching about why a man shouldn't spend his twenties sleeping. According to them, they're meant to work hard for 24 hours in their twenties so they can rest as much as they want in their fifties.
This motivated me to work and work and work. Years later, I look back and see a lot of work on a lot of things but not many tangible achievements.
We're in an era that romances the hustle culture. They tell us to work without rest as it's the best thing to do. It's not. It only makes you busy, it doesn't make you productive.
It's easy to get carried away with all the distractions of work. You want to do so much, but that's not how reality works.
Productivity is about doing one thing and doing it well. You don't need to do a hundred tasks a day. Do one and do it well.
If you get carried away by the hustle, you will be busy doing 9-5 making of rubbish. You'll come back and ask yourself "what have I really achieved with all of this?"
I want to use this opportunity to advertise the book me and my friends have been working on for weeks. It's an anthology of short stories and poems titled WHISPERS OF A MUSE. It's free, the publishing date will be revealed soon and it's free.
